Ghanaian Afropop, dancehall and reggae musician, Livingstone Etse Satekla, better known as Stonebwoy, has disagreed with ace Nigerian singer Davido after describing Burna Boy, as a “new cat” in the music industry.

Speaking during a recent interview with GoldMyne TV, the ‘Activate’ crooner insisted that contrary to Davido’s claim, Burna Boy is a music legend.

Davido on Thursday night caused a buzz on social media after he labelled the likes of Burna Boy, Fireboy Dml, Rema, Mayorkun and Asake as ‘new cats’

According to him, he and Wizkid paved the way for the Grammy-award winner and these other Afrobeat artistes.

He said, “Wizkid and I were the first young artistes to blow up and it feels good seeing new cats like Burna Boy, Rema, Fireboy, Mayorkun and Asake killing it now”

Reacting to the statement, the ‘Last Last’ crooner shared a new post via his Instagram page noting that his goal is to leave an impact for eternity.

“Uniting people from all walks of life has always been my dream. We’re Leaving An Impact For Eternity. Love, Damini” Burna Boy wrote.

However, joining in on the conversation, Stonebwoy disagreed with Davido, stating that Burna has been in the music scene for more than a decade.

He said: “Burna Boy is not a new cat to me because Burna has been there for more than a decade.

“If Davido said that, I honestly do not believe that he means that outrightly. New cats would be Rema, Ruger them. So, I don’t believe Davido meant that but also if you ask me, I think Wizkid and Davido have had a fair share of international appeal earlier than Burna.”
