The 21-year-old forward had expected to link up with Erik ten Hag’s senior squad after the charges were dropped, but he is now frustrated at the lack of progress, the report further said.

For now, Greenwood has not been allowed to return to training with the Red Devils, despite still earning £70,000 per week, but his current contract at Old Trafford will expire in the summer of 2025.

Meanwhile, Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag is set to part ways with as many as 15 senior players in what appears to be a brutal summer shake-up at Old Trafford this summer.

The Red Devils gaffer took the decision following the club’s recent poor performances, especially Sevilla’s 3-0 defeat, which led to the elimination of Man United from the Europa League and left the Dutch manager furious.

Curiously, Greenwood was not on the list of the 15 senior players expected to be sold or released by the Ditch tactician in the summer.
