Manchester City defender, Kyle Walker, has warned Premier League leaders, Arsenal to expect “twists and turns” in the Premier League title race this season.

Walker, who captained Manchester City in their 1-0 loss to Tottenham on Sunday, courtesy of Harry Kane’s first-half goal made this known after the encounter.

The loss meant the champions missed a crucial opportunity to cut Arsenals’ lead to two points, after their shock defeat to relegation-threatened Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

The Gunners remain five points clear of their nearest challenger, Man City with one game in hand.

However, Walker, who left Tottenham Hotspurs for the Etihad, speaking after the loss to the Lillywhites acknowledged it was a missed opportunity.

He went on to send a note of warning to the Gunners, saying despite not taking their advantage against Spurs, there will be other opportunities in the future to close the gap and leapfrog the league leaders.

He said: “Of course, it is [a missed opportunity].

“They dropped points and we needed to pick up points to close the gap, but there is still a lot of football to be played.

“I have been here many, many years in the Premier League and I know the twists and turns that can happen.”
