Tunde Ednut claims Asake released hit song “Joha” while in school

Tunde Ednut took to social media to share an old video of Asake performing his song “Joha” in his university days, the track later became a hit song

Nigerian comedian, blogger, social and media influencer, Tunde Olaoluwa Adekunle better known as Tunde Ednut has claimed Afrobeats singer, Ahmed Olalade, a.k.a Asake first performed his hit song “Joha” during his university days.

In a bid to support his claims, Ednut, who is also a musician, shared a throwback video of the fast-rising music star on social media.

In the clip, Asake and his team were seen dancing to an old version of his song “Joha” on the stage at the campus of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU).

According to the comedian, that was the first time the singer performed the track, he, however, added that a few years later, he (Asake) modified the song which has now become a global hit.

Captioning the video, Ednut wrote: “Asake Throwback when he first did JoHA… It only blew up in his University. Years after, he became a mega superstar and he decided to redo the song and it became a global hit. GRACE!!!”

After the clip found its way online, fans of the singer and other netizens trooped to the comment section of the post to hail the “Sungba” crooner for working hard to become successful.

Some of those who commented went on to thank the popular blogger for shedding more light on the matter.
