Rita Dominic, Mercy Aigbe, other celebs tackle Mark Zuckerberg after losing followers on IG

Rita Dominic, who got married not too long ago, called on the microblogging platform to resolve its issues at once

A lot of Nigerian celebrities have lashed out at Mark Zuckerberg, the owner of Meta, after losing a lot of Instagram followers, following a glitch experience by the microblogging platform.

Instagram remains the most popular online platform where celebrities interact with their fans, it is also a source of income for them as the huge following translates to being rewarded financially by the owners.  

However, In recent times, Instagram appears to be giving its users a tough time after new updates made most of them lose followers and in some cases their IG accounts. 

On Monday, October 31, 2022, this became a trending topic among the users of the platform, as they shared their experiences. Some Nigerian celebrities were not spared, as they tackled Meta owner, Mark Zuckerberg.

Some of the stars who were seen ranting on social media include Rita Dominic, Mercy Aigbe, Solomon Buchi and Nkechi Blessing.

They took to their various Instagram pages to explain how they lost hundreds to thousands of followers, calling on Meta owners to resolve the issue. 

Actress Rita Dominic, who got married not too long ago, called on the microblogging platform to resolve its issues at once.   

She wrote: “Instagram. What’s the color of your problem? Stop running kiti kiiti kata kata Stay in one place nau ok”

Another thespian, Mercy Aigbe, while expressing her frustration, noted that Mark has been frustrating her. 

She wrote: “Oga Mark you cannot frustrate us abeg! Reducing my followers anyhow! Over 12,000 followers today! Even my bestie @kazimadeoti that is managing his small followers you still dey commot am! 

“Wo Olopa ma ko everybody! ori app yi!”

While Solomon Buchi, the relationship expert who refused to apologise after saying his fiancée wasn’t the most beautiful woman had this to say:

“The kind of glitch Instagram is having eh! My follower count went from 80.2K to 80.1K. In another 3 seconds, it’s gone to 80K. No, it’s not bots. Boys don’t follow me. This same thing happened weeks ago, where follower counts weren’t increasing even when new people were following”
