“Dr Datti Baba-Ahmed and I stopped by for a courtesy call on Sheikh Gumi at his official residence in Kaduna,” he wrote.

The former governor of Anambra State is in Kaduna for the Arewa Joint Committee. Another presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso had said he would not attend the event, accusing the organisers of bias.

One time, Baba-Ahmed addressed talks that he and Obi are not known to the northern electorate.

“Whoever thinks that Labour Party or Obi-dient movement or Peter Obi as an individual is not being welcomed in the north, they are making a huge mistake.

“Awareness has been very high in the north. What happens is that northerners listen more to the politicians and the politicians seem to have more impact on the populace in the north and awareness is pretty high,” he said in an interview on Channels TV.
