Financial slavery (2)

Quickest route to promotion is problem-solving

(3) Develop skills
Another area to consider, to make money and earn better income, is the development of professional skills. Having identified what you can do to meet people’s need, you must develop the ability to do it well. Be excellent in whatever you do.

Since we are not born with professional skills, we must commit to learning as much as possible. What you learn ultimately determines what you earn. Attend a course, seminar, buy and read books. Go to school, get a mentor, browse the internet and do whatever you can to improve this year. The bible says: “Seeth thou a man diligent in his work, he will stand before kings and not mean men.”

Those who do their work with excellence eventually have better and bigger opportunities. More so, what a king or wealthy man or government can afford to pay for your service will be far more than what an ordinary person can afford.

Whatever skill you have acquired or profession you have chosen, be the best in your chosen field of endeavour. If you are a nurse, be the best nurse in town this year. Whatever you do, go extra mile to satisfy your customers. If you can do all these I have suggested above, you are on your way out of poverty syndrome.

(B) The power of money
Money has tremendous powers. With money, you get to know the true character of people. Hence, it is very important to know God experientially, alongside with having money. When you truly know God and give him the first place in your heart, you cannot be enslaved or controlled by money. The scripture says: “If riches increase, do not set your heart on them.”

Many so-called believers and Christians, who once knew God, served him and were entirely committed to him, have lost their faith in God when blessings came in form of money. Those things that were important to them became less important. They now see praying, fasting, going to church, giving to God’s work and the needy around them as nothing. You will hardly see them in church services or fellowship centres any longer all because of the urge to make more money. No wonder the scripture says “the love of money is the root of all evil”.

How many married women have sold their value off because of money? They are no longer satisfied with what their husbands provide, but run after strange men, all for money. Some housewives, who were once humble and respectful soon became proud, arrogant, stubborn and deviant to their husbands, all because they got better jobs, won contracts or got promoted, which invariably change their financial status. This ought not to be.

Our men are not exempted. Once available father, so caring and supportive to his family soon became scarce and out of reach for his wife and children. Besides, how many single men and ladies remain single not because God has not provided them with a suitable partner but due to unnecessary pride and standard set on them by the power of greed? We need to repent and retrace our steps to God, so that we will not be destroyed by the power of money.

Prayer points:
1.       Lord, let your hand be against everything that is against my financial comfort this month.
2.        Lord, let everything that is out to pull me down financially go down for me now.
3.       Lord, let the grace for financial comfort speak in my life this month.
4.       Lord, pour on me the oil for financial comfort. From the north, south, east and west I call forth money into my life.
