Genevieve Nnaji’s IG clearout raises concern among fans

Genevieve was rumoured to have been hospitalised due to a mental health related illness on various social media platforms

Ace Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji on Tuesday, May 10, took a drastic decision to unfollow everyone on her Instagram and deleted all the pictures on her page.

Her action raised concern among Nigerians, especially her followers, who noticed that her Instagram handle @genevievennaji was empty with just a post, 8.5 million followers, and zero following.

Though the thespian did not offer any explanation for the action, some members of the online community speculated she might be emulating American singer Beyonce who has 255 million followers but does not follow anyone.

Others, however, suggested it is deeper than that, as they concluded that the beautiful actress might be going through an emotional meltdown that has now turned into depression.

Genevieve a few months ago, posted some disturbing videos on her Instagram page, which some followers termed signs of depression.

In the videos, the 43-year-old advised everyone to be prepared for death, as she shared an empty store, a praying mat, and a quote from the Quran. 

Meanwhile, the actress on Wednesday, May 11 returned to Instagram to share a video of herself painting on a canvass.

This comes amid unverified reports on social media that the thespian was hospitalised due to a mental health related illness.

The actress in the post did not react to the allegations but merely shared a video of herself and captioned it, “#mindfulness”.

Genevieve marked her birthday on May 3, and she celebrated the special day across all social media platforms.
