Elon Musk has his eyes on another global brand after sealing an epic $44 billion deal with the Twitter board and becoming its new owner.

Musk, who is the founder, CEO and Chief Engineer at SpaceX on Thursday said his next acquisition would be Coca-Cola, one of the most successful names in American business history.

On Tuesday, Musk, with an estimated fortune of $269billion, acquired Twitter in a $44 billion (£34.6 billion) takeover, saying he plans to “unlock” the potential of the social media giant.

A couple of hours before the deal was reached, he posted online: “I hope that even my worst critics remain on Twitter because that is what free speech means.”

In a more recent tweet, the 50-year-old Musk stated he would be buying Coca-Cola, and ensuring the drink is returned to its original state with cocaine in it.

According to Encyclopedia Brittanica, Coca-Cola (KO) – Get Coca-Cola Company Report began in 1886 when John S. Pemberton began to make the original beverage at his chemical company.

Originally containing both cocaine and forms of caffeine, the drink was marketed as a “tonic” for ailments. As crazy as it sounds, that wasn’t that absurd for the times.

Pemberton’s syrup was taken to a local pharmacy where they added it to soda water.

According to Coca-Cola’s website, Frank M. Robinson, Pemberton’s business partner, came up with the name Coca-Cola as well as the design that everyone knows so well.

However, Pemberton’s creation wasn’t his for long, as investors soon jumped in on the potential of the beverage, and expansion took off past the beginning territory of Atlanta.
