Denrele said he was misconstrued and argued that Goldie would not have taken his comment to heart if she was alive

Nigerian TV host, Adenrele Oluwafemi Edun popularly known as Denrele, has corrected the impression that he and late Nigerian singer, Goldie Harvey, were romantically involved while she was still married.
The entertainer had earlier in an interview with NeeCeeBosslady Blog revealed that he and Goldie were more than friends and shared intimate moments while she was alive.
Denrele wrote, “I have not shared this anywhere but I can as well say it here. My beautiful late friend, Goldie, a lot of people just thought we were friends but we did have a few intimate moments and that is why I will say that I was the driving force; God bless her soul, she is resting in power. I knew she was married, of course, we kept that secret. But we had what was more than friendship. We had a few moments ‘you know, we entered the corner.’”

The 40-year-old, after the revelation, faced backlash from netizens who accused him of disrespecting her family and tainted her memory.
In an attempt to clarify his earlier statement, he took to his Instagram page to answer critics, saying he was misinterpreted, insisting ‘intimacy‘, does not always connote ‘sex’.
He went on to say it was the first time Goldie was being talked about after her death and that she would have laughed over what the online community was taking seriously if she was alive.
“Intimacy has been misconstrued! Why does everyone think Intimacy connotes sex? What a Horny Frequency! Either ways, intimacy in this context means ‘Shared Secrets’ and ‘One Corner’ denotes ‘even catching me with someone in the Corner’.
“’Igboro’ na Street. We don enter trenches severally! Oh well, this is the first time in Years that people are talking about the late Goldie… We would have had a good laugh about this!” Denrele wrote.
