Former Liverpool defender, Jamie Carragher has suggested that Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku is likely to lose out in the face-off with his manager, Thomas Tuchel.
The 43-year-old Liverpool legend made this known while responding to questions as a pundit on Sky Sports recently.
In a recent controversial interview with the same medium, Lukaku criticised Tuchel and expressed his desire to leave Stamford Bridge and return to Inter Milan.
Tuchel responded to his player’s disrespect by dropping him in Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool with the striker not making the bench.

Carragher, while wading into the rift between the Belgian striker and his German gaffer, believes even though players normally win these types of scenarios, Lukaku will likely be eased out.
According to him, it will likely be easier to get a replacement for the powerful striker than get another ‘top-class’ manager of the caliber of Tuchel, should it come down to a decision to pick between the two.
Carragher also listed Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, and Thomas Tuchel as the only top managers in the English Premier League (EPL).
He said: “In the past, the players have always won against the manager. Right now, I think in terms of top managers in world football, I’d say there’s a dearth of them.
“We’ve got three in the Premier League – Jurgen Klopp, Pep Guardiola, and Tuchel.
“But look at the problems Man Utd are having right now in terms of their managerial situation. They still don’t know who they’re going to get at the end of the season or who is out there who can compete with these three.
” Right now, for Chelsea, even though they’ve had great success changing managers over the last 10-15 years.
“I actually think it may be easier to replace Lukaku than the manager they’ve got. They’ve got a top-class manager right now.”
Thomas Tuchel is not the only EPL manager battling player’s disrespect, his London rival Mikel Artera, recently suspended and stripped his former captain Aubameyang of the captain’s armband when he reported late after he was granted permitted to go and see his sick mum.
