Aubameyang was permitted to leave the club for family reasons, but he reportedly returned a day later than agreed.

The 32-year-old striker last played for the Gunners in their 2-1 defeat at Everton on December 6, where he missed a glorious opportunity to earn his team a point.

Aubameyang has been left out of Arsenals’ squad since then, missing the wins against Southampton, West Ham, Leeds United, Sunderland, and Norwich City and putting his future at Emirates in doubt.

He recently took to social media to publish a controversial post, which suggests he showed no remorse despite his suspension.

The Instagram post showed a photo of Aubameyang with his family celebrating the yuletide and wishing his fans a “Merry Christmas.”

He then added the hashtag “#FamilyFirst” to end the highly contentious post.

The caption, which appears offensive, has been criticized by a lot of Arsenal fans on social media, with a lot of them saying it showed a lack of remorse and disrespect for Arteta and the club.

Some Arsenal fans and members of the media also concluded the post is in response to speculations that Barcelona and Juventus are interested in the striker.
