Pressure is mounting on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer after losing four of the last six Premier League games and five of the last ten games in all competitions

According to The Mirror, Manchester United believes they can lure Brendan Rodgers away from Leicester City due to a clause in his contract.

United’s hierarchy are increasingly facing pressure from the fans because the Norwegian in charge has been underperforming and looks unlikely to deliver a trophy after three full seasons.

As a result Rodgers, whose stock has risen due to his work at Leicester, is on United’s radar and could move due to a Champions League condition in his deal.

Brendan Rodgers won the FA Cup for the Foxes last season, while also delivering a fifth-place finish, which saw them qualify once again for the Europa League.

The former Celtic boss recently reaffirmed his commitment to his current employers amid interest from Newcastle United.

He is well appreciated at Leicester but may soon get frustrated because of the gulf in resources between them and their rivals.

Rodgers, who was at a time an assistant coach at the London Club, Chelsea, previously held the reigns at Liverpool and Scottish club, Celtic.

The Mirror believes Manchester United would like to appoint a British coach, and that should further the appeal for hiring Brendan Rodgers.
