Antonio Conte, who won the Premier League with Chelsea in 2016/17, last coached a club in 2021.

He left Inter Milan at the end of the 2000/2021 season after winning the Serie A title and ended the dominance of the old lady of Turin, Juventus.

Nuno Esperito Santos was hired this season from Wolverhampton Wanderer and was in charge of Tottenham for just 4 months before getting the boot.

The manager was sacked, after taking charge of 10 English PLeague leagues (EPL) fixtures, of which he won 5, lost 5, and drew none.

He accumulated a total of 15 points out of possible 30 points, scored 9 goals, and conceded 16, thereby having a negative goal difference of minus seven.

Nuno also left the club in the 9th position, after losing 3 of his last 5 EPL encounters. He also lost the North London derby 3-1 to Arsenal.

Tottenham on Tuesday announced that they have secured the services of the former Chelsea coach, Antonio Conte, who is expected to stay at the club until 2023 or beyond.

The Italian had this to say after his appointment: “I am extremely happy to return to coaching, and to do so at a Premier League club that has the ambition to be a protagonist again. Tottenham Hotspur has state-of-the-art facilities and one of the best stadiums in the world.

“I can’t wait to start working to convey to the team and the fans the passion, mentality, and determination that have always distinguished me, as a player and as a coach.

“Last summer our union did not happen because the end of my relationship with Inter was still too recent and emotionally too involved with the end of the season, so I felt that it wasn’t yet the right time to return to coaching.

“But the contagious enthusiasm and determination of Daniel Levy in wanting to entrust me with this task had already hit the mark. Now that the opportunity has returned, I have chosen to take it with great conviction.”

Antonio Conte having won the EPL once will be expected to steady the ship of the North London club and guide them towards Champions League places.

Tottenham sacked Jose Mourinho in 2021 after a poor run of results, and he was replaced by the former Wolverhampton coach, Nuno, whose appointment has now been terminated after just 10 EPL games.
