Reports emanating from England suggest that the new owners of English Premier League club, Newcastle United, are plotting to snatch Brendan Rodgers from Leicester City
According to a tweet on the verified handle of Football Daily, Rodgers is the frontrunner to replace Steve Bruce, who is currently in charge of the Maggies and a total of €16m will be required.
“Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers is the ‘number 1’ target to take over as Newcastle manager according to Sky in Italy.
” It would cost €16m to get Rodgers out of his contract which will not be a problem for Newcastle.” The tweet read.
Another reliable source, claims Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who has 1.4million followers on Twitter, also said Rodgers is in a “pole position” for the job.
Sources from Leicester City football club, however, revealed that Newcastle is yet to make an official bid for their highly cherished coach.
Brendan Rodgers who manages two Nigerian internationals, Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho, had stints with Liverpool FC and Celtic football club before joining Leicester City in 2019.
