Tiwa Savage emerges only female artiste for Star Music Trek 2014

This year’s edition of Star Music Trek, which started on March 29 in Nsukka, Enugu State will witness performance from only one major female artiste, Tiwa Savage. She emerged among 16 other artistes unveiled at a sign-on party at the Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos on March 19.

Other performers for the 10-city concert include: 2face Idibia, M.I, Olamide, Davido, Wizkid, Wande Coal, Sound Sultan, Pasuma, Mr. Raw, Dr. Sid, Naeto C, KCee, Sean Tizzle, Phyno and May D.

The select list of performers was revealed to an exclusive audience of celebrities, media and officials of the brand at the intriguing party that featured three DJs, DJ Neptune, DJ Switch, DJ Blaise, who are also official DJs for The Trek. Hosts for the Trek are: Gbenga Adeyinka, DO2TUN of Cool FM and Laff Up.

Before the unveil, the popular My City Rocks campaign attracted artistes and celebrities commenting eagerly on what made their cities so special and unique. Excited fans all over the country engaged in the interactive campaign on electronic and online mediums where they also got an opportunity to guess the artistes on this year’s line-up.

“Our theme: “My City Rocks, is inspired by the uniqueness of the many cities in Nigeria. Young Nigerians have connected to these special traits in a unique way as only they can and have made this campaign all the more spectacularly engaging right from the very beginning,” Corporate Media and Brand PR Manager, Edem Vindah, said.

Star Music Trek, which has been in existence since the early 90’s, will this year tour Nsukka (March 29), Makurdi (April 5), Uyo, (April 12), Umuahia (April 19) and Orlu (April 26). Others are: Ekwulobia (May 3), Onitsha Fegge (May 11), Benin (May 17), Ado Ekiti (May 24) and Lagos (May 31).
