BREAKING: Oliseh resigns as Chief Coach of Super Eagles

-

After weeks of ding-dong controversy between Super Eagles’ Chief Coach, Sunday Oliseh and Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), the Belgium-based Oliseh announced his resignation as Chief Coach of the Nigerian national team in the early hours of Friday.

He had signed a three-year deal on July 15, 2015, to succeed Stephen Keshi, but spent only eight months on the tough Eagles chief coach job.

Oliseh took to his Twitter handle, @SundayOOliseh to announce his resignation saying: “I feel fortunate, blessed and eternally grateful for having had the honour to play, captain and coach this great nation of ours, Nigeria.

“Due to contract violations, lack of support, unpaid wages, benefits to my players, Assistant Coaches and myself, I resign as Super Eagles Chief Coach.”

He was the fourth player from his team to manage the Super Eagles after Austin Eguavoen, Samson Siasia and Keshi.
