NPA floats Electronic Truck call up App

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) has introduced “Electronic Truck call up App (ETO)” to enable transporters and truck owners gain access in and out of the two seaports in Lagos.

NPA also disclosed that from February 27, 2021 trucks without ETO will no longer gain access into the seaports, urging transporters and shippers to download the App for effective movement of consignments in and out of the ports.

According to a tweet on the verified twitter account of the NPA @nigerianports, It is the responsibility of the shipping company to move empty containers from their holding bay to the Port.

NPA affirmed also that shippers should note that empty containers can only be returned to the ports through the approved holding bays of shipping companies using the Eto Platform.

The tweet reads: ”The Authority is pleased to announce the commencement of ETO, the Electronic Truck call-up system designed for the management of truck movement and access to and from the Lagos Ports Complex and the Tin Can Island Ports, Apapa, Lagos.

“Cargo owners should please note that empty containers can only be returned to the ports through the approved holding bays of shipping companies using the Eto Platform. It is the responsibility of the shipping company to move empty containers from their holding bay to the Port.

“Therefore, all transporters, trucks owners and truck drivers will be required to download the Eto App from Google play store or sign up before the commencement date to enable them register accordingly.

“NEW: Ètò, An Electronic Call-Up System for Scheduling the Entry of Trucks and Empty Containers into the Ports, by @nigerianports. All Transporters, Truck Drivers, Cargo Owners, Clearing Agents & Shipping Companies must now register on the platform.

ETO Apps, it was gathered, is managed by Truck Transit Park (TTP) Limited, consultant on the e-call up system.
