POEMS: Inmates of time

88. She III

The Moon sat lazily

above the herby ravine

behind our backdoor.

The night soothing breeze

caressed unceasingly

behind the cocktail.

Just then She

floated into view

behind a joyful choir session.

It was a wonderful moment

I couldn’t hold back again

hence I tried and left

behind all my worries.

So here I am now thinking

and wondering about all those days

behind with shudders.

89. Climb over the barbed ridge

It’s not the length of time of our stay

or our hearts’ rhythm and drumbeats.

or even the laughter that showers

during lovely trysts that counts for me.

Know it with the truthful heavens,

it’s a heart’s golden wishes,

the outpouring of a longing soul,

the deep rooted prayers of the spirit,

that counts with the Lord.

They will make the rains to fall

and water our sprouting foliage,

and plant our hearts’ sagging tree

by the streams of living waters.

So, wait on the Lord evermore,

and I shall be your heart desire,

nothing short for I have left Babylon.

Climb over the barbed ridge at night,

at dawn we will be happy.
