POEMS: Inmates of time

80. Love Lost III

Like night

she held and enveloped me.

But now, where am I?

Am walking in moon lit betrayal

from roulette wheel.

Head down and torn,

a worn-out warrior,

a devastated gladiator back,

back from erotic defeat

Now is day, and I can see

so let me see not emotional craving

let me see hope

I want to pick up my shattered entrails

and move up and on.

81. Love Lost IV

We stood side by side

lost images

by the lagoon shore.

We stood watching

the moon play on the wave crests.

Here we are in our own labyrinths lost.

Lost because of ourselves

I wonder what we are

by the lagoon?

With fallacy in our hearts

and our flesh an interlocked chain,

really we are lost.
