The Ondo State governorship election holding today has taken off on a violent note in the Oke Ijebu area of Akure, the state capital.
“Sporadic shootings have been reported at Pollíng Unit 11, Edo Lodge in Oke Ijebu, Akure,” according to a breaking news flashed by The Nation.
It quoted Ondo police spokesman, Tee-Lee Ikoro, as confirming the incident.
“He said Mobile Police operatives have been deployed to the scene.”
