Ahmed Kuru confirmed as MD of AMCON, succeeds Mustafa Chike-Obi

The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Ahmed Lawan Kuru as Managing Director of Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

Kuru was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari to replace the pioneer AMCON chief executive Mustafa Chike-Obi after the President dissolved the executive team of the corporation.

Kuru was the Group MD/CEO of the defunct Enterprise Bank Ltd. He started his banking career with the old Habib Bank in 1985 and rose through the ranks to become executive director of Bank PHB (now Keystone Bank) in 2005.

He holds Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Accounting and Masters in Business Administration. He is respected in the banking industry as a result-oriented and deft leader, who has a strong accountability record.
