ANLCA activates 23 dormant Customs licenses on behalf of members

The Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) has again, retrieved over 23 seized licenses by the Nigerian Customs Service on behalf of members.


The association maintained that despite the dreaded coronavirus pandemic , the licenses of non members were unblocked with mechanism put in place to retrieve another 30  customs licenses.


The foremost  customs brokers group in 2019 had recorded success in ensuring that about 300 clearing licenses impounded by the service were released courtesy interventions by the Tony Iju Nwabunike led leadership.


Disclosing this to newsmen at a press briefing in Lagos last week, Secretary General of ANLCA, Alhaji Abdulazeez Babatunde Mukaila said that license recovery happens on a daily by way of intervention by the current leadership of the association.

Mukaila explained that the association has intervened on behalf of members and willing members in ensuring that their practicing licenses were unblocked and retrieved despite the pandemic.

According to him, members who had issues with their customs licenses visit the national secretariat on a daily basis seeking for assistance on how to regain their impounded licenses.

He reiterated that Tony Iju Nwabunike led association will engage the service once members are diligent and compliant with government  directive.


The scribe added that ANLCA will always stand by his members whenever issues bothering on oppressions  arise.


“We have equally helped some of our willing members who are tired to be on the fringe line .They have the experience but they don’t have the license but those people are now encouraged.

“We were able to recover 23 licenses this year despite COVID19, ranging from Abuja to Post Clearance Audit (PCA) and we assured our members that once you are in right path of compliance you can count on us. Because we don’t want a situation whereby government agencies would want to muscle you up when you are doing your legitimate job
