He said adequate parking space has been provided for tanker drivers and there is an agreement between FAAN and the Tanker Drivers’ Union (TDU) to only use designated parks except during loading or discharging of fuel at tank farms.

He urged the security agencies to enforce compliance with the rules.

FAAN and tanker drivers have been having a running battle over parking on the access road of the airport which causes traffic jam and travellers to miss flights.

As a result of increased surveillance, FAAN security officials recently disclosed the arrest of several suspected child traffickers at the Sam Mbakwe Airport, Owerri.

FAAN has promised to continue to provide a safe and secure environment for passengers and other airport users, and warned child traffickers and other unscrupulous persons to keep away from the airports.
