The world is outraged over collapsed building in Itafaji area of Lagos on Wednesday.
The building which was housed both tenants and school of over 80 pupils was said to have been marked for demolition since February 2017, but was hurriedly renovated to evade being pulled down by the government.
Sources say Town Planning officials are being bribed to let defective buildings stand.
A son of the landlord said new cracks appeared on the building days before it collapsed.
According to him, the building was still in the hands of developers before the incident which claimed over 10 lives including a pregnant woman.
Rescuers have called off search for more survivors on Thursday.
A teacher in the school said she resigned in December last year when she noticed the building was defective and the school owner refused to relocate the school.
