Bala Haruna, the man who vowed to bathe and drink water from the gutter has died of severe abdominal pains.
His death went viral yesterday on social media.
Immediately Buhari was declared the winner of the February 23 election, Haruna from Bauchi State jumped into the gutter and bathed and drank the water for ten minutes.
His action made a social media blitz.
According to reports, Haruna was rushed to the hospital after complaining of abdominal pains and severe stooling of blood for two days.
He was diagnosed with gastrointestinal bleeding.
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce said that the ignorance displayed by Haruna is the type former president Goodluck Jonathan was trying to cure by building 165 Almajiri schools and 14 new universities.
In 2015, Abubakar Duduwale, a staunch Buhari supporter, trekked from Yola in Adamawa State to Abuja to celebrate Buhari’s victory.
Last year, Minister of Health, Isaac Adewole visited Duduwale at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola after he developed a leg injury from the trekking.
According to Ishaya Ibrahim of TheNiche Data Analysis Unit, Buharideens are different from Buharists.
The Buharideens are those who hold extreme Islamic religious views and support Buhari because they believe he represents their interests.
Ibrahim also said Buharists are those who envy the economic successes of the elites. He said they support Buhari because his policies have impoverished that class.
