A Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Femi Falana, may have won the hearts of Nigerians over his position on the suspended Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.
Falana featured on Channels Television programme, Sunday Politics, and knocked the Federal Government for suspending Onnoghen.
His words: “I had warned that Nigerians be ready to defend this rickety democracy as we are slowly descending into fascism.”
He said that the government was in a hurry to act on the issue and warned that the country might descend into a constitutional crisis.
Falana pointed out that the suspension of the CJN could only happen upon the recommendation of the NJC, not the president acting on an order from the CCT, while stressing that the suspension was a jungle justice.
Nigerians had since hailed him, while urging the government to heed his words and restore order in the judiciary.
