Buhari nominates five non-Executive board members for CBN, writes senate

President Muhammadu Buhari has nominated and written the Senate on the confirmation of the appointment of five persons as non executive members of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) board.

Buhari’s letter to the National Assembly was read on Wednesday, May 23.

Senator Ahmad Lawan, who is the Senate Leader, raised the motion in respecvt of the letter in the senate saying: “That the Senate do consider the request of Mr President C-n-C for the confirmation of nomination of the following persons for appointment as non-executive directors of the board of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).”

He was supported by the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Godswill Akpabio who in his motion urged the Senate to consider the request of President Buhari.

They include: Professor Ummu Ahmed Jalingo (Northeast), Professor Justina Odinakachukwu Nnabuko (Southeast), Professor Mike I. Obadan (South-South), Dr. Abdu Abubakar (Northwest) and Adeola Adetunji (SouthWest).
