PDP national chairman visits IBB

Members of the  Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) led by the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, visited the former military president, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, in Minna, Niger State on Monday.

The delegation was also at the residence of a former member of the Board of Trustees of the party and the late governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abdulkhadir Abdullahi Kure.

Other members of the PDP on the entourage of the National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus, included the National National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbodinyan; National Financial Secretary, Alhaji Abdullahi Maibasira, and the national woman leader.

The team was reported to have arrived at the Minna Airport via a chartered flight and was driven in a motorcade to the Up Hill residence of General Babangida.

Our correspondent gathered that the delegation held a close-door meeting with the former military president in the presence of  members of the Niger State Working Committee of the party led by the Chairman, Alhaji Tanko Beji.

Babangida, it was gathered, commended the work the NWC had been doing since getting into office especially in the area of reconciling aggrieved members of the party.

Secondus, according to source, briefed Babangida about development in the party and the plans for the Osun and Ekiti states governorship election.

The NWC members also condoled the widow of the late Board of Trustees member, Senator Zaynab Kure.

The chairman assured Senator Zaynab Kure “that we are always with you” before appreciating the role her late husband and herself had played in making the PDP what it is today.
