The House of Representatives on Tuesday witnessed a rowdy session following the defection of Honourable Raphael Nnanna Igbokwe representating Ahiazu/Ezinihitte federal constituency in Imo State from the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC).
As a result of Igbokwe’s defection, members of the PDP and the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the House of Representatives, staged a walkout.
The rowdy nature of the House was linked to the decision of the Speaker, House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, to align with his APC members who were in support of the defection of Igbokwe.
Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state, believed tom be one of the architect of Igbokwe’s defection was also at the plenary to witness the drama.
Though Igbokwe’s fellow PDP members raised alarm over his defection, sources said his constituents are seeing his defection as belated as he had long spiritually left the party and worked as a mole for too long.
