The Trinity Chorale, a Lagos-based independent choral group, will on Sunday, July 23, stage a musical concert in Lagos with the theme “Here I am Lord”, to be accompanied by a 12-piece orchestra conducted by Nnamdi Amadi.

According to Amadi, the Founder/Director, proceeds of the concert will be donated for the rebuilding of churches in Maiduguri Diocese, Borno State, and to support training of priests. Maiduguri is in North East Nigeria where Boko Haram destroyed many churches.

Also, Cornel of The Voice Nigeria is one of the guest artistes at the concert that will hold at St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba. Other guest artistes include Olumide Baritone and Dehinde Nelson-Cole of the Tenor Trio, as well as Uche Agbamegbue of Laz Ekwueme Chorale.

Amadi, the coordinator of Team Cornel at the maiden edition of The Voice Nigeria talent hunt, founded The Trinity Chorale in April 2014 to perform for various charities and community organisations.

The Creative Arts graduate of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, is a musician/conductor with over 25 years choral singing experience. He rose from a choir boy in St. Dominic Catholic Church, Yaba to become the Choirmaster General of the Lagos Catholic Archdiocesan Choir in April 2013. He was a member of the Laz Ekwueme Chorale led by Prof. Laz Ekwueme; Gemma Regis Lyrical Theatre led by Prof. Emmanuel Mereni; Chordwebs, the defunct five-man acapella group with Ben Ogbeiwi, Dare Art-Alade, David Bebiem, Kenny Iwatuje and Seun Owoaje; De Clique Vocals led by Demola Olota; among others.

The Trinity Chorale’s wide repertoire include sacred, secular, choral, seasonal, classical, contemporary and popular music. Its 2016 Christmas concerts with the theme “Joy To the World” in Lagos wowed choral music lovers who started asking for more.

Bebiem echoed this when he said, “Trinity Chorale will certainly leave you asking for more, because that’s what happened last year.”

Cornel, on his part, promised to give the audience the best of him at the show.
