No fewer than 1000 members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) in Lagos are to undergo one-week training on intelligence gathering to enhance community policing in the state.
The state Deputy Commandant of the VGN, Mr Emanuel Ayirise, disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday in Lagos.
According to Ayirise, the training, slated for June 19 to June 24 at Ikeja Police College, will be conducted by the Nigeria Police.
The VGN Deputy Commandant said that only registered members of the group would participate in the training which was already underway in other states of the federation.
“It is important that our personnel are trained so that they can deliver better service in terms of intelligence gathering and community policing in the state”, Ayirise said.
