Buhari’s absence in Lagos not ill-Motivated – Akande

-

Chief Ayo Akande, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State, on Thursday said the last minute cancellation of the two days working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to the state is not ill-motivated.

Speaking on the alleged rift between President Muhammadu Buhari and a national leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, as being responsible for the aborted trip, Akande said nobody should read any negative meaning into the event other than the reasons given by the aides of the president.

“President Buhari’s absence in Lagos for the two days working visit cannot be ill-motivated. Nobody should read any negative meaning into it. His aides have said it was due to scheduling difficulties and that he will be in Lagos for the commissioning after Ramadan. That is what we believe

“ Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is a highly patriotic and loyal individual to President Buhari and the APC. He cannot destroy a house he has built. He is a credible Nigerian and leader and national leader who is committed to the change agenda of the current administration”.

“President Buhari on the other hand is a very matured and grateful. He is a man who values loyalty, commitment and hardwork. There cannot be any quarrel between the two of them as being speculated. Both men are patient, matured and trustworthy”.

He also showered praises on Governor Akinwunmi Ambode whom he described as a true leader “who is committed to ensuring a crime-free Lagos and that Lagosians should go to bed every night and sleep with their two eyes closed”.

“This is the second time in less than six months that the governor will be donating equipment to security agencies in the state. It shows that he is a proactive leader who places premium on human lives” he said.
