“We have done all things humanly possible to ensure the security of our parishioners during the mass.

“As we all know that God is the Chief Security but we still need to do our part as humans and the rest is for God,’’ he said.

Pastor Alex Aniefiok of The Apostolic Church, Nyanya, said that the church requested for the services of security personnel to man the church during the crossover night service.

“We have made request for security officers that will ensure the security of lives and property of members.

“We have already sensitised members on some security tips and that they have to be very alert and report any person sitting beside them if not a familiar face.

Aniefiok said some of the measures include: erecting barricades; using metal detectors to check people entering the churches and a special police unit to carry out surveillance.
