Chief Coach of Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure, Erasmus Onuh, has vowed that his side will fight to the end of the season, despite what the club is going through.
Onuh made the vow after Sunshine Stars was mauled 3-0 by hard-fighting Heartland Football Club of Owerri in its Week 32 tie in Owerri.
He expressed disappointment over the result, as he described it as a bad result. But he absolved his players of blame.
“I am the coach of the team, and I should be held responsible for whatever happens to the team irrespective of the outcome of matches.
“The result is a very bad one for us. I came and met this team already packaged. I am doing my best to ensure the players get to play together as a team. None of my players should be blamed for the defeat.
“But I can assure you that we will fight to the end to get something out of the season. Nothing is impossible at the stage.
“I am positive that we will come out strong at the end of the season, and we should not be written off by now,” he said.
