-

President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the fight against corruption is not a magic wand for a single leader to use but requires the commitment of all, adding that the situation may be rough and tough now, but the future will be better for Nigeria to be greater.

The President who is the visitor to the 26th Convocation of the Federal University of Technology, Minna and represented by the Director of Technology and Science Education on Saturday noted that his government came on the promise to change Nigeria from path of corruption.

Consequently, he said the fight against corruption must be a task all Nigerians must be committed to and work for it, adding that the vibrancy and creativity of the youths are the greatest resources and pillar of the country.

He noted, “Today may be rough and tough but tomorrow will be better; I have hope because I see in you inventors, problem solvers, and leaders that will one day make Nigeria greater than my government will make it.

“No doubt this gathering signifies hope and it signifies promise; hope and promise because you, our youth are vibrant, energetic and creative citizens, are the greatest resource and pillar of this country,” he told the graduating students.

According to him, the real test of a university’s standing is in how many of its products were impacting positively on the society and that the universities in Nigeria should pre-occupy themselves with the training of graduates that help to positively have impact on the society.

Consequently, the President added, “I want to see your certificates not as meal tickets but as testimony to your character and ability to make the society a better place.”
