A former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, yesterday met with former Oyo State Governor, Senator Rashidi Ladoja, to finalise plans on the defection of some notable politicians into the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

The meeting was held behind closed doors at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeo  kuta. A highly placed source, who confirmed the meeting to New Telegraph, said Ladoja was accompanied by 16 serving members of the Oyo State House of Assembly

Also on the former governor’s team were the Senator representing Oyo Central, Monsurat Sunmonu; former Acting National Chairman of Alliance for Democracy (AD), Chief Michael Koleosho; former Secretary to Oyo State Government, Barrister Sharafadeen Alli and leader of Unity Forum, a breakaway faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr Busari Adebisi. The Coordinator of ADC in Oyo State, Chief Olayiwola Olakojo, and several chieftains of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state were also present at the meeting.

Our correspondent learnt that the parley discussed burning issues that affect the politics of the state. At the end, it was gathered that the visitors agreed to dump the PDP and embrace ADC in order to battle the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the administration of Senator Abiola Ajimobi-led government.
