Many communities in the South Eastern part of the country are excited as the founder of Kalu Ulu Memorial Foundation, Dr Anuma Kalu Ulu has completed plans to be in the country for his 2018 medical mission.
Ulu, Nigerian-born medical practitioner based in the United States said he would be in the country “for another superlative medical encounter with the indigent and needy ones as usual”
In a statement made available to The Niche from the foundation’s office in Umuahia, Abia state, the medical expert said that all arrangements for the exercise have been perfected.
The statement read in part : “The Ulu foundation is set for the 2018 free medical services as all arrangements have been concluded”.
“last year, 2017 the medical trip touched many communities covering not less than three states. it was an awesome exercise. This year (2018) offer to our communities going by the plan of the foundation will be bigger”
“Our mission is to touch lives either through our free health provision or on welfare, food provision as well as financial assistance as the occasion demands”.
Dr Ulu who was nominated for the “2009 and 2010 CNN-Heroes Award” for his philanthropic work said “the foundation will determine areas to visit for community service on arrival, revealing that “Many souls will be lifted, many lives will be positively touched and many faces will smile again when we hit the ground running with what we have in stock”.
Ulu told The Niche in an interview in January (2018) at the round up of his 2017 medical trip that he was committed to “ensuring that the indigent are given helping hand, not only to survive but providing them with hope to live a better future”.
Ulu’s passion for charity has continued to drive him live a life where philanthropy defines his everyday life.
It would be recalled that the Kalu Ulu Memorial Foundation is a tax-exempt non-profit organization geared towards improvement of the health and socio-economic status of indigent rural-dwellers in Nigeria through provision of free goods and medical services.
