Nigeria’s former High Commissioner to the United Kingdom and a boardroom guru of many conglomerates, Dr Christopher Kolade (CON), has stated that many young Nigerians who are creative in various fields of endeavour are not recognized and celebrated.
Kolade made the observation in his remarks as the chairman at the occasion of the second annual lecture of TheNiche newspaper held on Tuesday, October 15, at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA), Victoria Island, Lagos.
“There are active talents but they are not being given recognition,” he said. He made a case for the young talents by saying that they should be sought for and given support to showcase their talents.
According to Dr Kolade, one of the things to do about these young talents is to identify what they are doing which we can expect and respect.
He urged Nigerians, particularly the older generation, to open their eyes, ears and recognise and encourage the young talents who will be the next drivers of the economy.
He tasked the management of TheNiche to ensure that in the 2020 edition of the lecture, young people will be on the high table.
