The Zion Prayer Movement Outreach led by Evangelist Chukwuebuka Anozie Obi, has highlighted the importance of its three-day World Conference scheduled to last from Friday, August 23, to Sunday 25.
The programme will hold at Ngor Okpala, Imo State. It will be the first time the annual conference will be held outside Lagos.
The three-day event will mark the end of the 100 Days Fast and Prayer programme of the ministry, which began worldwide on Saturday, May 18, 2024.
While explaining the importance of the Conference, at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Lagos, a member of the media committee, Patrick Iheonu, stated that the programme aimed at achieving a radical change in the value orientation of the participants. He added that the exercise was also intended at drawing the people closer to God, stressing that doing so will make the country whole.

The World Conference, according to Iheonu, is also tailored at uniting the country and enhancing national development. He remarked that the solution to Nigeria’s challenges is returning to God and seeking His face. He called on Nigerians to be their brothers’ keepers especially at this period of economic difficulties.
The Ministry explained the choice of Ngor-Okpala for the Conference, saying it was informed by availability of space and the need to give the South East region a sense of belonging in the evangelical movement. It added that holding the programme in Ngor-Okpala does not mean closing the Lagos Headquarters. The Ministry assured of livestreaming the Conference for audience participation across the world.
Our reporter gathered that apart from seeking spiritual growth for members, Zion Ministry is also involved in philanthropic and humanitarian gestures aimed at helping the poor and indigent. It has Seraphic Home Foundation through which it takes care of the poor, the widows and facilitates payment of school fees for indigent students.
Responding to a question about its court case against a controversial blogger, Chizorom Harrison Ofoegbu (Ijele) who is facing trial for allegedly threatening f Evangelist Ebuka Obi, another member of the media committee, John Nwokwu explained that the suspect was granted bail some months ago and that he perfected his bail conditions and ought to have been released.
Iheonu added that in the spirit of the 100 Days Programme, Zion has forgiven anyone who has wronged the Ministry and Evangelist Ebuka Obi.
It was however learned that Ijele, the blogger is embroiled in other alleged cybercrime offences against other parties not related to Zion Ministry and Evangelist Ebuka for which he is still being held pending his arraignment for the other charges.
