Zenith Bank to empower Delta youths with ICT skill

The Chairman of Youth Counci,l Delta State chapter, Kenneth Okorie, has appealed to youths in the state to embrace the forthcoming Information Communication Technology (ICT) training proposed by Zenith Bank as part of their fulfillment in local content.

The chairman, who the appeal in Lagos, urged youths to shun violence and embrace hard work through Information Communication Technology, adding that his administration was bent on ensuring that youths in the state were occupied with activities that would elevate their status.

Okorie said that the council had resolved all disputes ravaging the directorate and ex-communicated self-centred individuals.

He also said that the council had partnered international bodies to ensure that youths were developed.

He commended the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for carrying the youths along in his administration with his Yagep programmes meant to develop the youths.

He further disclosed that youth directorate under his watch had embarked on tour round the 25 local government areas of the state to sensitize youths on the need to stay focused for a better life, adding that these Christmas period brings a lot crimes among youths.

He debunked the ideology of youths migrating illegally to other parts of the world, stressing that Nigeria is a better place with opportunities to survive.

He said that Zenith Bank had partnered the council and proposed provision of 18 sets of computer for ICT trainings that are free of charge and will accommodate 30 youths each month starting from January of 2018, while the government of the state will provide starter packs for graduating trainees.
