Yusuf urges Kano voters to have faith in Supreme Court

Yusuf also assured his supporters that he would win his appeal at the apex court despite Appeal Court’s ruling

The Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has asked the residents of the state to have confidence in the Judges of the Supreme Court as they await the verdict of the apex court on the March 18 governorship election.

He made the plea while launching Corporate Security training of 2500 youths in the state at the Sani Abacha Stadium, on Sunday.

The governor who approached the Supreme Court after the Appeal Court upheld his sack by Kano State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal also commended the judges of the apex court for their commitment to justice and fairness in the handling of cases brought before them.

“I want to use this opportunity to commend the Supreme Court Judges for their commitment to justice and fairness.

“I will also want to call on the people to have confidence in them and continue to respect their integrity,” Yusuf said.

He went on to assure his supporters that he would win his appeal at the Supreme Court. 

He further said the event was part of his administration’s plans to ensure that employment opportunities were provided for the teaming youths of the state, who are finding jobs hard to come by.

He also said that the launching of the training at the Corporate Security Training School would commence with a newly introduced security syllabus.

Beneficiaries of the programme are drawn from the 44 local government areas of the state, and at the completion of the training, they will be provided with jobs in the state MDAs, as well as in the local government areas.
