His words: “You are advised to approach the rural populace with open mind and ready to compliment their efforts with your different skills and talents acquired during your orientation course so that you can leave indelible and enduring mark on them.’’

The governor, however, urged them to utilise their intellect, resourcefulness, skills and understanding positively during their service year to promote the community.

“You can do a lot to uplift the standard of living of our people by rendering service in crucial areas as education, healthcare delivery, legal and environmental protection, agriculture as well as other rural infrastructure development,’’ he said.

The governor assured: “On our own part, I want to reassure you that we, the government, and the good people of Yobe State are very hospitable to Corps members at all times. Therefore, as you leave the camp, after this ceremony, accept your postings to any part of the state in good faith, and do not entertain any fear of the unknown. Our people have been informed about your arrival and they are eagerly waiting to receive you with open arms. As soon as you get to your places of primary assignment, settle down and interact freely with your hosts. Appreciate their culture. This is the sure way you will get their best reception, support, cooperation and goodwill.”

In her remarks, the Coordinator, NYSC Yobe State, Mrs. Grace J. Adzer, appealed to the governor to provide lodges to the Corps members accross the 17 local government areas to have a conducive environment for effective service delivery.
