-

The College of Administrative and Business Studies (CABS), Potiskum, Yobe State, has appealed to the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to accredit four of its courses, ND Banking and Finance,  HND office technology, ND library and information science and HND social development.

CABS was attacked four times by Boko Haram.

The rector, Malam Musa Auta, made the appeal when the NBTE team visited the institution.

Auta also urged the state government to complete the institution’s abandoned Lecture Theatre Hall, while asking for additional classroom and accommodation.

He disclosed that contract for the expansion of the college library had been awarded “and the work on it has already started “.

The rector further acknowledged the contribution of Yobe State Governor Ibrahim Gaidam in the transformation of the college.

His words: “Despite the financial constraints in the country and the state, the governor has always had a listening ear and somehow always managed to come to the aid of the college whenever the need arises. ”

Responding,  the NBTE accreditation Team Leader Malam Aliyu Lemu expressed satisfaction with the facilities at the College and pledged to discharge their duties fairly without fear or favour.

Yobe is one of the educationally disadvantaged states in the federation.
