World’s oldest man, Juan Mora dies at 114

Juan Mora was born in the town of El Cobre in the Andean state of Tachira, Venezuela on May 27, 1909, and was the ninth of 10 children

Juan Vicente Perez Mora, a Venezuelan man who in 2022 was certified by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the oldest man in the world, has passed on.

Juan Mora who died on Tuesday, April 2, breathed his last at the age of 114.

His demise was confirmed by the
Venezuelan President, Nicolas Maduro who said, “Juan Vicente Perez Mora has transcended into eternity at 114 years of age.” on social media platform X,

GWR officially confirmed him as the world’s oldest at the age of 112 years and 253 days old, saying he began working at the age of 5.

The statement issued in 2022 said,
“At the age of five years old, he started working with his dad and brothers in agriculture and assisted with sugar cane and coffee harvesting.”

Juan Mora went on to become a sheriff and was responsible for resolving land and family disputes, while still working as a farmer.

A father of 11, as of 2022, he had 41 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

He was born in the town of El Cobre in the Andean state of Tachira on May 27, 1909, and was the ninth of 10 children.
