As the Super Eagles prepare to face Bosnia Herzegovinia in their second match at the World Cup in Brazil, the Honourable Minister of Sports and Chairman, National Sports Commission, NSC, Dr. Tammy Danagogo has called on Nigerians not to give up hope on the team.

According to Dr. Danagogo, who was in Brazil to receive the Eagles and the Federal Government delegation headed by the senate President, David Mark on arrival last week as well as cheer the team in their first match, all hope was not lost as they still have a chance to qualify from the group.
“Nigerians have every right to be disappointed because they expected their team to beat Iran. It is expected but I want to appeal that they should not lose hope but continue to pray and support the team. Bosnia are beatable and the Eagles can come back strong and post a victory against them,” he said.
The minister who has left Brazil on his way back home said that he believes that the team have learnt from the mistakes they made against Iran and that the technical crew would plot new strategies to dislodge the Europeans who lost their first match against Argentina.
“I believe in the never-say-die spirit of the Nigerian athlete. The Eagles and the coaches must have studied the tape of the last match and will plot new strategies to win the next game. I therefore, urge Nigerians to continue to wish them well, they don’t have to lose hope ,” he stressed.
The Eagles place second with one point, same as Iran who play Argentina who lead the group with three points. Bosnia are at the bottom with no point and will be under more pressure against the Eagles.
