Lere Olayinka, a media aide to the  Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has rubbished claims by veteran singer and actor, Charles Oputa, aka Charly Boy, that Lagos State is a “No man’s land”.

He made his position known in a post he shared on Wednesday on his X page.

Oputa had while condemning the changing of popular Charly Boy Bus Stop to ‘Olamide Baddo’ Bus Stop, called out the Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) executives and the Lagos State government.

Faulting the renaming of the bus stop after renowned hip-hop artist, Olamide Adedeji, Charly Boy noted that  “Lagos is a no man’s land.”

He went on to liken the coastal city to New York in the United States.

Reacting to his criticism, Lere Olayinka challenged the singer to contest for the position of ‘Oba of Lagos’ since be believes the state belongs to everybody.

He sarcastically added that Charly Boy, who hails from South East, could also contest for other traditional positions in Lagos, since they are written in Igbo language.

Speaking via his verified social media handle, he wrote: “Ndi Lagos is no man’s land, when next the seat of Oba of Lagos becomes vacant after the present Oba must have lived long enough, go and contest for it.

“You can also contest the seats of Obas like Osolo of Isolo, Ogiyan of Ejigbo, Olu of Mushin, etc.

“You can even become Oniru, Ojora, Olumegbon, Aromire, Oluwa, Oloto, Olumegbon, Elegushi, Bajulaye, Ashogbon, etc.

“Sebi all these Traditional Titles are in your own language, not Yoruba.”
