Wike to bring Buhari, Obi, Oshiomhole, others to Port Harcourt to commission projects

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has continued his recent tradition of inviting members of other political parties to inaugurate projects in the state.

Among those on Wike’s list for commissioning about 16 projects in Rivers are President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Also invited for the same purpose is a former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.

The projects will be inaugurated between Monday, November 14 and December 2.

Buhari, who recently decorated Wike with a Distinguished Award in Infrastructures, will be represented by the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), on November 18, to inaugurate Allabo Graham Douglas Campus of the Nigerian Law School, Port Harcourt, in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, reports The Nation.

Obi has been scheduled to inaugurate the Nkpolu-Oroworokwo Flyover in Port Harcourt on November 16.

Oshiomhole, who had a public spat with Wike in the build-up to Edo State governorship election in 2020, has been invited to inaugurate the Rumepirikon Flyover on November 15.

Wike also invited the Emir of Kano, Ado Bayero, to inaugurate a mega health project – the Dr. Peter Odili Cancer and Cardiovascular Diseases Diagnostic and Treatment Centre.

The Chief Justice of the Federation is billed to open the newly completed Federal Judicial Commission Liaison Office and Justice Mary Odili Judicial Institute while the Inspector-General of Police is scheduled to inaugurate the Police Intelligence Centre.

Other projects yet to be assigned by the Wike administration for inauguration include Mgbutanwo Internal roads, Rukpoku-Rumuapu-Igwuruta Link Road, Akpabu-Itu-Umudiagha Road, Rukpakwulusi-Eliogbolo community new layout road, Basic Clinical Science Building, Renal and Dialysis Centre at RSUTH, Rumuodogho 1 and 2 and Mgbuoaimini Road.
