Wike’s Media Aide Lere Olayinka explained that the withdrawal of the Right of Occupancy (R of O) of the allottees was consequent upon the expiration of the extra two weeks grace period granted them to pay their C of O bills.

Others  affected incljude former Enugu Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro,  Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa, and House of Representatives member Oluwole Oke.

A total 3,273 allottees were given two weeks in October 2024 to pay up their charges or lose their R of O titles – 2,511 complied, leaving 762.

The remaining 762 were given another grace of two weeks to pay up, but as of January 15 this year, 12 days after the expiration of the deadline, only 194 have paid, leaving 568.
