Why APC got overwhelming victory in Kwara LG poll — Abdulrazaq

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has stated the reason he believed his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), won a landslide victory in the just concluded local government election in the state.
The APC, in the election conducted on Saturday, was declared on Sunday by the state electoral body (KWASIEC) as the winner of all the 16 chairmanship and 193 councillorship seats contested.
Abdulrazaq, in his congratulatory message to the party, highlighted reason the party recorded the result in the election.
He submitted that the reason was due to achievements of his administration, the support of the members of the party and stakeholders and the sustained relationship he said the party had built with people of the state.
The Kwara governor, in a statement, issued by his media aide, Rafiu Ajakaye, congratulated the APC candidates in the election while commending the KWASIEC and security agencies for the peace and success of the election.
The statement reads: “Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq heartily congratulates all the newly elected 16 local government chairpersons and 193 councillors on their deserving victories at the Saturday’s election.

“The Governor also congratulates all the leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on the successful outing at the polls, which he links to the strides of the government, the support of every party member and stakeholders, and sustained relationships that the party has built with the people of the state.
“Governor Abdulrazaq commends the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission and the security agencies for the peaceful and hugely successful exercise.
“The Governor says he is confident that insights and experiences from the exercise will help to improve future elections in the state and across the country, especially that leadership of other states’ electoral commissions observed the exercise across the state.
“Governor Abdulrazaq again commends Kwarans for their large turnouts for the election, their support for the APC, and their decent conducts while it lasted.
“He thanks all the political parties for their impressive participation and sportsmanship.”
